Come to know the Yerri Valley
It is located on the banks of the Ansuaín stream, in a central plain of the Yerri valley. The church of San Clemente is a building with a Latin cross floor plan with a single nave with two bays and a polygonal 17th century head. XVI and reformed in the XVIII. The bell tower has a first prismatic body of the s. XVI and is crowned by another octagonal and baroque s. XVIII. The main altarpiece is Romanist and it is remarkable the carving of the Virgin of Munonda, Gothic. On the outskirts of the village there is a 1576 stone transept that presents rough images of the Crucified and of the Virgin and Child.
What to see
For those who love nature, we recommend visiting the Urbasa and Andía Natural Park, which highlights the source of the Urederra. Other important upwellings in the environment are the rivers of the Ubagua and Iranzu rivers. Also, the Alloz reservoir provides bathing areas and water sports. Notable is the Iranzu monastery with its magnificent cloister. The nearest section of the Camino de Santiago Navarro is a tourist axis in which the historical-artistic heritage stands out with a center in Estella, from where you can go to La Rioja with a stop at the Irache Monastery, Monjardín Castle and churches of Los Arcos, Torres del Río and Viana. You can also go back to the Jacobean route with stop in Cirauqui, Puente del Río (churches of the Crucifix and Santiago, extraordinary medieval bridge) and octagonal hermitage of Eunate.
Activities in the area
EIn the proximities 5km is the Alloz reservoir with the school of Vela de Navarra, being able to practice water sports and bathing. With the proximity of Urbasa, Andia and Nacederos of rivers Ubagua, Iranzu and Urredera you can make beautiful hiking excursions. The proximity of Estella is a perfect excuse to see the old town and its monuments as well as the Monasteries of Iranzu in Abarzuza and Irache in Ayegui.
